A top contributor in our RV Lifestyle Facebook group recently asked the community for game recommendations. Lori asked, “What is everyone’s fav game to play while camping?”

She started the list with card games and dominoes but asked for new ideas. As per usual, our community answered! The post garnered over 275 comments filled with RVers' favorite board games for camping.

The following covers their most popular suggestions as well as some of our own. There's something for everyone (including solo travelers!), and it includes several camping-themed board games to make your trip that much more “on theme.”

If you are looking for a complete list of entertaining board games for camping, look no further. The following list includes the favorites from real RVers like you.

1. Taboo

Taboo is a long-standing crowd favorite! This classic game gets teammates to guess a specific word without saying the forbidden word on the cards.

Say a forbidden word, and you get beeped! You have to press on to get your team to guess as many words as possible before time runs out.

It's a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud game that's great for 4 or more people. It's a go-to if you're planning a game night, and a great way to make new friends while camping if you want to invite fellow campers.

2. Boggle

I am calling all wordsmiths! Boggle is your game! This game used to be really popular, but has lost attention in recent years. We're bringing it back!

In this game, you shake up letters, flip the timer, and spot as many words as possible. Whatever player gets the most words wins. Solo RVers can also play by trying to beat their high score. 

This game is excellent for folks that need a little brain challenge throughout the day to keep their minds sharp and active.

3. Wordle Board Game

If you like Boggle but want a new word challenge game, check out Wordle Board Game. It takes the fun digital game to a new analog level and can be played with two to four people. 

This board game was inspired by the New York Times game of the same name. There's also a very popular app version available on Apple and Google Play.

But since cell service is sketchy while traveling, this board game version is the best solution for campers. Plus, it makes it a group game, as opposed to the single-person play on the app and NY Times website.

Speaking of word games, we assume you already have Scrabble on your list. But we want to point out there is a portable Scrabble Road Trip Series in a special travel case! 

4. National Park Monopoly

Does your family love a good game of Monopoly? If so, check out this National Park version of Monopoly. 

The classic game pieces have been replaced with a hiking boot, buffalo, ranger hat, camera, tent, and canoe. And the typical real estate properties have been replaced with 60 featured national parks! 

This fantastic dry-erase Monopoly World Tour is also a great option if you want to expand the adventures to the world!

5. Sequence

Sequence is a combination of card and board games. When you play a card, you also place a chip on the game board in the corresponding spot. Once you get five in a row, you have a “sequence.”

This version comes in a handy tin that can be stowed in a small compartment, and you don't have to worry about the lid coming off.

It's a great game for 2-4 players ages 7 and up. There's also Sequence for Kids for ages 3-6 and an educational version called Sequence Letters for ages 2-7.

6. Trekking the National Parks Board Game

Trekking is a wildly popular board game and the winner of The Mensa and Parent’s Choice Awards. 

The most remarkable thing about this game is that it was created by a couple that traveled to every national park. They then worked with their son to make the game. 

Great for 2-5 players and anyone 10 and up. 

7. “Camp” Board Game

Camp is another fun game for the adventurous folks with a name that says it all! This board game is a great way to learn facts about the great outdoors. 

It is educational and can be played according to age. So, if you have kids at different skill levels, you can still all play together as a family.

Plus, it accommodates up to eight players! It's no wonder it's a winner of the Dr. Toy 100 best children's products.

8. Travel Yahtzee!

You likely know of this classic board game, but you can get this nifty travel version. This delightful game of chance is fun for all!

Roll the dice and keep track of what tumbles out. The person with the highest score at the end wins the game. 

This travel version makes it easy to store and move with this game classic. Plus, it's a great way for kids to practice their addition and for adults to keep their minds sharp.

9. Travel Rummikub

Rummikub is a numbered tile strategy game. It is simple to learn, can be played with up to 6 players, and is recommended for people 8 years & up. 

This travel version comes complete in a small, durable canvas storage case.

10. Telestrations

Talk about a fun, modern game! Telestrations could be seen as the love child of Pictionary and Telephone.

Do you remember Telephone from when you were a kid? Where one person whispers a word or phrase one time into another player's ear, then that player whispers it to the next, and so on down the line. Then the last person says the word and sees if it's the correct starting word, with often hilariously wrong versions making it to the end.

Well, Telestraions is basically like an illustrated game of Telephone. It is family-friendly and sure to get a lot of laughs from everyone playing. 

11. What Do You Meme? 

Another crowd-pleaser, What Do You Meme? brings board game fun to the modern age. Players take turns playing caption cards while the other players try to find the perfect picture from their hand to complete the meme. 

The good news is there is also a family-friendly version for kids 8 and up. 

12. Ticket to Ride

Ticket to Ride is a strategic adventure game that is a fast-paced and fun train adventure. You connect iconic American cities by building train routes through a map of the United States.  

It can be played with 2-5 players and is recommended for ages 8 and up.

13. Catan

Catan is another adventure game for your traveling spirit! You and the other players embark on a quest to settle the isle of Catan. You win the game by guiding your settlers through development and clever trading. But watch out for thieves or tricksters along the way! 

This easy-to-learn game can be picked up quickly. While you can learn the basics in a flash, there is also a lot of depth o the game. You can explore different tactics and strategies for years! 

It can be played with up to 4 players ages 10 and up. There is also Catan Junior for ages 6 and up. 

14. 10-in1 Game Set

Do you love a good game of strategy? This convenient 10-in-1 game set has all the fun you need. The set comes with Checkers, Chess, Chinese Checkers, Mancala, Tic-Tac-Toe, Pick-Up Sticks, Backgammon, Mill, Insanity, and Roll Em.
