From the California RV Show 1

We've spent the last few days meeting and greeting folks at the California RV Show and can confidently report that the popularity of the RV Lifestyle is showing no signs of easing.

Crowds were big, excitement is high and RVs were selling fast. More than 1,300 2019 RVs are displayed at the show on the grounds of the LA Fairplex. We came out to hang with the folks at the Roadtrek display, where we had our own little booth. If you missed the opening weekend, don't worry. The show runs all this week and doesn't end until Sunday Oct. 14.

Here's last night's Ask Us Anything live broadcast that we did on the RV Lifestyle Channel from the show.

The most popular questions we were asked dealt with boondocking, power management when off the grid and finding places to stay. We gladly shared our suggestions and enthusiasm for the lifestyle. Several came by to say they had bought a copy of our new book, the Beginner's Guide to Boondocking and one of our California friends was even sporting our “Small House. Big Yard” T-shirt.

Here's some photos of the show and the new Roadtrek models on display.

It was like a homecoming reunion, meeting in person many of our west coast readers and viewers. People came from all over California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico.

Hymer's new lightweight travel trailers drew lots of attention. They can be pulled by even small cars.

Our personal favorite of the Roadtrek lineup remains the CS Adventurous XL. We love the roominess and the big refrigerator/freezer

Inside a big tent were dozens of vendors selling all sorts of accessories for the RV Lifestyle. We did a number of Quick Tip videos on things we found there. The videos will start showing up in our Tuesday reports over the next few weeks.
