Enjoyed the interview – and was very interested in your comments on Fiona. We are considering traveling with a kitty – and like the idea of not having to deal with a box. Is Fiona leash-trained?
yes, it’s the only way she gets out. i started when she was a kitten, both with the leash and the vehicle traveling, so she thinks it’s normal. walking a cat is different from walking a dog – you need to go where they want to go, not vice versa, and carry them home when they get tired. fiona has told me all these things 😉

Loved the interview it was very interesting. Was wondering what the recipe is that campskunk uses for making bread.
it’s a variation of the NYT no-knead recipe, with extra yeast so it will rise in a few hours vs. overnight.
1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
2 1/2 teaspoons rapid rise yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 1/4 cups flour
dissolve the yeast and salt in the water, stir in the flour just until mixed – do not knead. pretend you’re making biscuits. do not overwork it. form into a doughball, flour, and let sit 2 1/2 to 5 hours, depending on temperature, until doubled in size. heat a covered Le Creuset casserole or dutch oven to 400 degrees, then gently loosen the doughball in the bowl with a spatula and slide it into the casserole. shake it a bit to center it – don’t worry if it’s ugly. bake at 400 for 25 minutes covered, and 30 minutes more uncovered. http://www.flickr.com/photos/81571751@N00/6027491382

Mike/Campskunk’s: I need to know exactly what type/ size of cargo carrier and swing away arm that you use in conjunction with your continental kit on the back of your Roadtrek. Suggestions of where I may purchase them. Thanks

i use the stowaway large size (MAX) cargo carrier, with the extension-type frame and swingaway arm. pricey, but it carries all my satellite gear and lawn furniture and lets me access the rear doors when necessary. http://www.stowaway2.com/cargo-box-swinging.aspx
