Our RV food truck! Happy Thanksgiving

Here it is the American Thanksgiving – the 400th since the first Pilgrim Thanksgiving celebration – and we celebrated with an RV Food Truck – ours!

That's how we used our RV, as a food truck, to prepare a pre-Thanksgiving breakfast in the woods for about 20 friends and about 22 dogs!

Jennifer cooked blueberry pancakes, I cooked sausage and we all ate around a big campfire as the dogs circled around begging for their share.

Afterward, we took the dogs for a nice long hike in the woods.

It was yet another use for our Class C motorhome – temporarily turning it into an RV food truck.

Thanksgiving is meant to be a community affair

Thanksgiving is best celebrated in community – with friends and relatives. And we did so with our friends from the dog park.

Every morning, most of us can be found with our dogs, hiking in local parks.

It just seemed right to get together the morning before Thanksgiving and celebrate the joy of being outside in nature, the happiness our dogs bring us, and the enjoyment of each other's company.

Tough times are certainly trying in these difficult and divisive days for our nation, there is still much to be thankful for. God has greatly blessed all of us.

The RV made it so easy to prepare the food

We arrived about 9 AM. Two of the guys from the group had a roaring campfire going to ward off the sub-freezing cold.

Jennifer turned on an electric pan for the pancakes and started cooking the sausage on the burner. But when she realized that she only had two hands, she gave me the sausages and I moved them outside, setting up a small table.

I fired up the generator and used another electric pan to cook them.

Soon, I was surrounded by dogs.

By the time the rest of the group showed up around 9:30 AM, everything was ready, Other group members brought cookies, cupcakes, maple syrup, hot chocolate, and coffee.

Afterward, we walked the dogs for an hour or so.
